Metroplex

MetroPlex (by Seachem) is a broad-spectrum antibiotic/antiprotozoal medication used in marine and freshwater aquariums to treat internal and external infections in fish.

The active ingredient is metronidazole, which is effective against certain anaerobic bacteria and protozoan parasites that commonly affect aquarium fish.

What it treats:

• Internal parasites (especially protozoans in the gut)
• Hole-in-the-head disease (HLLE-related bacterial/protozoan issues)
• Certain bacterial infections in low-oxygen tissues
• Some external protozoan infections (when used in food or bath treatments)

How it works:
MetroPlex is absorbed by the fish (when mixed with food) or acts in the water column, targeting organisms that thrive in oxygen-poor environments. It disrupts the DNA of susceptible microbes, stopping their ability to reproduce.
