The male Lyretail Anthias, also called the Sea Goldie, is a showpiece fish with a vivid red and magenta body, golden-yellow scale edging, a blue-ringed eye and a long, trailing dorsal filament. Its forked tail gives the species its name. It comes from the Indo-Pacific and Red Sea, where it gathers in large groups over the reef.
In the aquarium it does best with several females in a roomy, peaceful tank with plenty of open swimming space and rockwork to dart into. Males can bicker with each other, so keep only one per tank. It needs small, frequent meals throughout the day. Price and availability are by phone call or a visit to our Miami store.
All livestock ships via FedEx Priority Overnight, double-bagged and temperature-protected with a heat or ice pack as needed for your destination.
Florida orders under $299 ship for $25; out-of-state orders under $299 ship for $40. Orders over $299 ship free. We don't currently ship to Alaska, Hawaii, Puerto Rico, or outside the continental U.S.
