The Purple Tang is a deep violet-blue surgeonfish with a bright yellow-orange tail, native to the Red Sea and western Indian Ocean. It's one of the more vibrantly colored tangs in the hobby and a long-standing favorite for reef aquariums. Like other tangs, it appreciates rockwork for grazing and open room to swim.
