ROWAphos® is a high-capacity phosphate-removal media made from synthetic ferric hydroxide (iron oxide hydroxide) designed for freshwater and saltwater aquariums. It removes phosphate (PO₄) and silicate (SiO₂), helping to control nuisance algae and improve coral growth by reducing excess nutrients in the water. Unlike some phosphate removers, ROWAphos does not release absorbed phosphate back into the aquarium when exhausted and does not significantly affect pH. It is widely used in reef aquariums in media reactors or high-flow filter areas
