Kanaplex (by Seachem) is a broad-spectrum antibiotic used in aquariums to treat bacterial infections in fish, especially those that are harder to reach with food-based treatments.

Its active ingredient is kanamycin sulfate, an aminoglycoside antibiotic that is absorbed through the skin and gills, making it effective even when fish are not eating.

What it treats:

Fin rot and tail rot
Popeye (eye infections caused by bacteria)
Dropsy (in early stages, sometimes supportive)
Internal bacterial infections (especially when fish are not eating)
Secondary infections from injuries or stress

How it works:
Kanaplex interferes with bacterial protein synthesis, stopping bacteria from growing and spreading. It is effective against many gram-negative and some gram-positive bacteria commonly found in aquarium environments.
